Skiing and Snowboarding Near Redmond
Mt. Bachelor Ski and Snowboarding Resort is just 35 miles southwest of Redmond, offering thousands of acres of lift-accessible terrain. With 11 ski lifts and 101 runs, experts and beginners alike enjoy this mountain.
Not much further is Hoodoo Ski Area off the Santiam Pass with 34 ski runs available.
Sledding near Redmond
Mt. Bachelor is also home to a great innertubing and sledding area. Located between the Mountain Gateway building and the bottom of the Red Chair, is the Bachelor Snowblast Tubing Park with an 800 foot ride full of rollers.
Hoodoo also has its own tubing area with organized slides called the Autobahn. Tubes are provided when you purchase a ride.
Shopping and Restaurants in Downtown Redmond Oregon
Downtown Redmond is an up-and-coming spot in Central Oregon. There’s a selection of tasty restaurants if you head toward SW 6th Street. Redmond boasts several highly rated Mexican restaurants in town, as well as charming coffee shops, local breweries, pizza places – there’s even sushi and some fun food trucks.

Ice Skating Near Redmond, Oregon
Downtown Redmond has its own ice skating rink for the winter at the plaza on 7th St. between Deschutes & Evergreen Ave, operated by the City of Redmond and Parks & Rec.
Bend and Sunriver Resort also have ice skating rinks.
Cross Country Skiing and Snow Shoeing
Redmond Oregon enjoys some of the driest powder in the Pacific Northwest, which is ideal for winter activities like cross country skiing. Nordic skiing can be found at Mt. Bachlor and the Deschutes, Ochoco and Willamette National Forests. Many of these areas are also open to snowmobiling and snow shoeing. Find a route on trails.com.
Hike the trails around Redmond
Depending on the weather, some Central Oregon hikes can still be accessed during the winter. Try Smith Rock, Dry Canyon, Steelhead Falls, Lava Butte, or the River Trail at Eagle Crest.
