Why Vacation at a Central Oregon Resort

Unlike other parts of the state, Central Oregon resorts have the added benefit of clear, sunny weather most of the year. In other words, they can be enjoyed summer, spring, winter, or fall!
In Central Oregon, whether it’s near Bend, Redmond, or Sisters, you’re never far from mountains, rivers, and lakes.
Snow sports like skiing, snowboarding, sledding, and ice skating are popular activities in winter. Come summer, vacationers can enjoy biking, hiking, fishing, and water sports like kayaking, white water rafting, floating inner tubes down the river, SUPing, and more.
We have enjoyed many wonderful vacations in Central Oregon and have personally visited, if not stayed at, every one of the resorts covered in this post.

Bend Oregon Resorts
Being the largest and most popular city in Central Oregon, there are many resorts near Bend, Oregon. If you’re hoping to enjoy shopping, restaurants, breweries, and other amenities in Bend, you may want to stay at one of the following nearby resorts.
Mt. Bachelor Village Resort
Contrary to the name, this resort is not located on the ski hill of Mt. Bachelor but in the center of Bend, along the Deschutes River. It’s as close as you’ll get to all the city’s dining and activities compared to any other resort near Bend.
Mt. Bachelor Village is one of Central Oregon’s smaller resorts with your expected amenities.

Distance: 2.5 miles from downtown Bend, 20 miles from Mt. Bachelor

Sunriver Resort
Sunriver Resort is one of the largest and most well known resorts in Central Oregon.
Sunriver, Oregon is its own town with grocery, shopping, galleries, and multiple sets of amenities throughout the expansive complex.

Caldera Springs Resort
Located adjacent to Sunriver Resort, Caldera Springs is a more relaxed, gated residential community with luxury vacation rental homes and high-end cabins.
This is the only resort we haven’t personally been to, but our family members checked it out. They enjoyed a long weekend vacation in a rental near the lake.

Pronghorn Resort
With 640 acres of land and views of the Cascade Mountains, this residential golf resort feels luxurious and secluded. Rooms and suites feature private patios, stone fireplaces, and stunning landscaping.

Brasada Ranch
Brasada Ranch is another great place to slow down and enjoy the wide open spaces of Central Oregon’s great outdoors with a more casual vibe. Exclusive amenities are all within walking distance.
This private Central Oregon resort has a mix of resident/member houses as well as vacation rentals.

Seventh Mountain Resort is a family-friendly WorldMark by Wyndham property outside of Bend. Great for summer and winter vacations.

Redmond Oregon Resorts
As Bend gets more crowded and expensive, many vacationers are looking to Redmond for a low key, affordable alternative. As downtown Redmond revitalizes its charm, more trendy restaurants, breweries, and boutiques are popping up.
Eagle Crest
Eagle Crest is an extensive resort community near Redmond where both residents and vacationers can enjoy a wide range of amenities. Our parents had a house at Eagle Crest for a while, so we know it well. It’s been a great place to host out-of-town visitors.

Sisters Oregon Resorts
Sisters is a quaint Central Oregon town with an Old West vibe. The small town center is full of cute cafes, boutiques, galleries, and ice cream parlors, with plenty of trails as well.
Black Butte Ranch
Black Butte Ranch is a large residential resort near Sisters, Oregon with a variety of amenities for the whole family to enjoy. We have enjoyed many family vacations, and even a big extended family reunion, at Black Butte.
